Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the school name so long, and why does it say (planning name)?
The planning and development of a new school is a process which takes years. Long before any staff or students are on board, the community need is established, land obtained and construction commences. During this time, it is necessary for the future school to have a reference name as a temporary placeholder.
With a team now in place to consult with our community, we can begin the process to identify and recommend a name that better reflects our school and community. The final school name will be subject to the approval of the Minister for Education.

We appreciate the enthusiasm – and we’re keen to meet your children too! Applications for enrolment are only accepted for the next school year. We encourage you to keep up to date with the progress of the school, and welcome your application in 2022.

Which high school will students from Forrestdale South East (planning name) attend?
There is no set ‘feeder’ school arrangement between Primary and Secondary schools, with Local Intake Area placements applying just as they do for our students. The Local Intake school for your child may vary depending on your address. Currently, the entire LIA of Forrestdale South East Primary School (planning name) is situated within the LIA of Harrisdale Senior High School.
Construction will soon commence on Piara Waters Secondary College (planning name) this year, with the school due to open in 2023. At this time, the LIA may be adjusted between the two secondary schools.
